Print Media Collective, a full-service commercial printing and graphic design company, sponsored a very successful year-end holiday luncheon for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals recently at the Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral Center in downtown Los Angeles. More than 125 people representing numerous charities, foundations and other nonprofits attended the December reception, networking and luncheon.
Guest speaker was Reverend Andy Bales, CEO of the Union Rescue Mission (URM) and Hope Gardens. Reverend Bales shared with the audience the social networking tools, such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and other social networking sites, he used to help raise $3.6 million in 37 days to save Hope Gardens Family Center for homeless single mothers with children.
Established in 1891, URM is one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles, dedicated to serving men, women and children experiencing homelessness. They provide a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services for men, women and families including: food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training.
